Having been a guitarist for 16 years now, I was skeptical of Rocksmith and while I think it took me longer to learn how to play the game than I had hoped, it can be a lot of fun, think of it like an educational but still really fun and obviously realistic Guitar Hero and you’ve got a rough idea of what the game is like. Rocksmith 2014 Edition builds upon the initial success of Rocksmith, which innovatively and effectively taught over 1.5 million players how to play the guitar. If anyone else tries to do this, I hope this helps, cause this problem drove me nuts.Today, Ubisoft announced that Rocksmith 2014 Edition will be available in the UK from October 25th, 2013. I think maybe i was careless with checking ALL the sample rates, and making them the same. even was able to add the builtin mics back in the pt agg device and use them. I just picked stereo, and then had to actually add the L and R check offs to this path. Now in pt i had to goto IO, and add a new output path. Make output, under pt agg, master clock, but also being resampled. Under this agg device, have builtin output and rsmith input selected.

Option click agg device, choose it for sound outputs, but not alerts or you cant use mac volume buttons or slider. Option click pt agg device and choose it for use for input (as opposed to the cable device itself).

Make sure rocksmith is set to the same sample rate as your pt file will be, and also change the builtin output and pro tools aggregate to this, for me 48000. I dunno, but heres what i did.Īgain, this is all on OSX m lion with a macbook pro retina 13". Ok so, the problem seemed to be derived from the way pt looks at the output i guess. fellow videogame/recording enthusiasts hehe. im wondering if its actually even more or a macbook issue than protools, and ive been searching gaming sites, everywhere, but i figured maybe someone else had ran into this garbage like i had. the ONLY time i got it to show there was when i actually disabled the embedded sound on the macbook, so i could hear it, but could choose the input and see a level, but what the hell is the point of that. And so, yeah it works in garageband so i kno the cable works in some sense, but when it add it to the protools aggregate, it just wont show in pt. so thats why no regular cable and interface, already use that. Just be mixing and adding things if i like, whatever. It just seems like it should work so simple, and i would really love to sit on the damn couch and add guitar to a song without going down to desk and blah blah you kno. No i kno, im sorry to sound annoyed, this is obviously a kindof silly request. I would even find solace in knowing this will never work, so i can stop trying. This seems like it should be so easy, but its driving me crazy. When i change the settings in the Audio Midi setup program, protools will quit out and reopen twice. Im using OSX, and Ive read that I should be creating a custom aggregate device with the cable checked off as the input device, but it never appears in protools as a selectable input, and the built in mics are always there but grayed out. This works in garageband no problem, go figure, but thats not how i want this to work. If you are unaware of this device, it is by UBI and its called the realtone USB cable.

Im trying to, occasionally when lazy, record guitar or bass with protools 10, into my macbook pro, using the USB interface cable that comes with the PS3 game Rocksmith. Ive been searching and can find nothing about this in the forums, and on google i get basic instructions on how this should work but nothing relating to when it doesnt, so i apologize in advance in this has been answered somewhere.
